The small lessons we learn in life-

When we tell someone we wish we could kiss them and they don’t reply- we learn to not want to kiss them.

When we tell someone that we miss them and they don’t reply- we learn to find ways to not miss them.

When we express that we wish they were there to hug us and they dont reply- we dont hug anymore.

When we state that we look into the future and see them and they reply with “I”, we learn to think “me.”

When we tell someone we love them and they don’t say it back, we learn eventually to stop loving.

And the one thing that we should of learned all along was when to stop answering the phone.

The Frenemy.: Things Worth Knowing

thefrenemy:

1. Always carry cash. Whenever I go to brunch wif my friendz, everybody pulls out 3,000 of their finest credit cards and chucks them at the table. Somebody will figure it out, we all battle cry. Then we burp at the check, stare at each other while blinking, and see if we can stiff each other a…

Self-explanatory.
I know a lot of people are gonna be like, “HEY, WHY ISN’T LENO A SLYTHERIN?!” but to me, out of all the working late night hosts, David Letterman most exemplifies the qualities of Slytherin house — cunning, wit, ambition, all that stuff. Leno is probably a Slytherin, all right, but he’s more like a Dolores Umbridge. The rest are completely obvious. Conan is clearly a Gryffindor — actually, he might even be a long-lost Weasley. Jon Stewart is the most Ravenclaw of them all; wit beyond measure is man’s greatest treasure and all that. And Jimmy Fallon is clearly a Hufflepuff. Come on.

kate keeps it real: Rule #2

katekeepsitreal:

They’d conversed everyday for almost five months. Some days it was a short text:

Hello. I miss you. Bye.”

Where are you?

Far enough away to miss you..

Some days it was a long conversation about everything from religion to wisdom teeth.

See. It’s God’s way of saying you are…

I’m trying…

to remember what my life looked like before you because I have a feeling its soon to look that way again.

There are certain things in life that are deal breakers when you are in relationships.  Whether they be friendships, lovers or people that you think might be your life partners.  When things come to a point that you realize you are never going to feel the way that you want to, it might be time to get out.  When you realize that someone can’t emotionally give you what you need or return the care and love that you give to them, sometimes you have to make one of the most grown up decisions of your life- to let them go.  It’s not to say that they might not realize what they are missing and return to your life with a new found vigor and want to try.  But, for your own self preservation- you must say goodbye.

I feel as though I am coming to that point.  When my emotional needs aren’t met, I can’t keep trying.  Things aren’t supposed to be so hard.  Yes, you are supposed to work at it but you aren’t supposed to feel like you do all the trying and get nothing in return.

So, again…I get to be the grown up in this situation, just like I always have been.
